Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-09-30 Version: 2026-09-30

Important notice

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the operator of LapseZero. Please pay particular attention to the sections concerning billing and renewal, third-party services, suspension and termination, indemnification, disclaimers, liability caps, and dispute resolution. By checking the acceptance box, continuing with a third-party account, creating an account, or using the Service, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy in the same legal bundle.

1. Contracting entity and scope

LapseZero is operated by Shanghai Jihuxian Technology Co., Ltd. (上海极狐线科技有限公司) ("LapseZero", "we", or "us") and provides TLS/SSL certificate automation through lapsezero.com and cn.lapsezero.com. The same domain and its subdomains are also used for email, delegated DNS, and other technical infrastructure.

The Service includes the certificate request, domain validation, deployment, monitoring, renewal, alerting, account, billing, and support features currently made available. Features, limits, and prices are those shown in the product or at checkout.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a contract in your jurisdiction and must provide accurate information. You are responsible for safeguarding your password, third-party login accounts, and other credentials, and for activity under your account. You must promptly act and notify us if you discover a compromised account, credential, domain, or private key.

You may not sell, rent, or transfer an account without our written approval. We may require reasonable identity, payment, or domain-authorization verification.

3. Certificate-management authorization and your responsibilities

You are the controller of the relevant domain and the applicant for each certificate. LapseZero acts only as your authorized technical agent and does not replace you as the Subscriber, Applicant, or equivalent party under a Certificate Authority's ("CA") terms.

You authorize us to:

  • request, renew, reissue, and revoke certificates with CAs currently supported by the product;
  • perform ACME interactions and domain-control validation;
  • use the DNS, cloud, or SSH credentials you configure to write challenge records and deploy certificates;
  • generate, encrypt, store, and use certificate private keys and chains as configured by you; and
  • stop renewal or revoke certificates in response to key compromise, loss of domain control, CA requirements, security events, or circumstances described in these Terms.

You represent that you have lawful control of, or sufficient authorization for, every domain, credential, and deployment target you add. You are responsible for consequences caused by unauthorized domain management, unlawfully obtained credentials, configuration errors, or failure to revoke compromised credentials promptly.

A CA may independently refuse, limit, suspend, or revoke any certificate. Issued certificates and domain names are generally recorded in public, permanent Certificate Transparency logs.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • request or deploy certificates for domains you are not authorized to manage;
  • conduct phishing, fraud, malware distribution, traffic interception, or other unlawful activity;
  • evade limits, access controls, security measures, or payment requirements;
  • disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; or
  • infringe third-party rights or expose us, a CA, or an infrastructure provider to unreasonable risk.

We may investigate suspected abuse and restrict affected accounts, domains, jobs, or access when reasonably necessary.

5. Plans, payment, renewal, and refunds

We may offer free and paid plans. Prices, taxes, billing cycles, service periods, and limits are shown at checkout. Unless expressly stated otherwise, paid plans are prepaid for the selected period.

5.1 International subscriptions

Stripe subscriptions purchased through the international site automatically renew for the monthly or annual period shown at checkout until you cancel through the subscription-management portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you may use the applicable benefits until then. If we change prices, we will give reasonable notice before the new price applies to a future renewal.

5.2 Mainland China prepaid plans

Plans paid through the mainland China site by Alipay, WeChat Pay, bank transfer, or another method shown at checkout are currently fixed-term prepaid services and are not automatically charged or renewed. Service begins after payment is confirmed and must be renewed by you when it expires.

5.3 Refunds and payment issues

Except where required by mandatory law, in the case of a duplicate charge, where we confirm that we cannot provide the purchased service, or where checkout expressly states otherwise, fees are non-refundable after service activation and are not prorated. Failed, reversed, disputed, or overdue payments may result in order cancellation, non-activation, suspension, or downgrade. You are responsible for taxes legally payable by you.

6. Intellectual property and customer data

LapseZero and its software, interfaces, documentation, trademarks, and technology are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms grant only the limited, revocable, non-transferable rights required to use the Service and do not transfer intellectual property to you.

You retain rights in data and configurations you lawfully submit and authorize us to process them as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service. We may use suggestions you voluntarily provide without payment, but do not acquire ownership of your business data as a result.

7. Availability and third-party dependencies

Unless a checkout page contains a separate written service-level commitment, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, absolute security, a particular issuance or renewal time, or that any CA will issue a certificate.

The Service depends on CAs, DNS providers, cloud platforms, SSH targets, networks, payment processors, email providers, and other third parties. Their outages, rate limits, policy changes, refusals, or permission errors may affect results. We will use reasonable efforts to assist with diagnosis but are not responsible for third-party conduct outside our reasonable control.

You should maintain appropriate copies of configurations and certificates and a business-continuity plan. The Service must not be your only backup or disaster-recovery mechanism.

8. Suspension, termination, and data handling

You may stop using the Service and request account closure by contacting [email protected] from your registered email address. After verification, we will process account data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate all or part of the Service if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, endanger security, infringe third-party rights, create legal or compliance risk, or if immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect users or infrastructure. In an emergency, we may act without advance notice.

After termination, we may stop issuance, renewal, monitoring, and deployment jobs. Certificates already deployed may remain valid until expiry or CA revocation. You should export necessary data before termination. Data required for legal, tax, security, dispute-handling, or backup-rotation purposes may be retained for the necessary period.

9. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, if your unauthorized domain management, unlawful use, infringement of third-party rights, unlawful credentials, or material breach of these Terms causes a third-party claim, regulatory investigation, or reasonable expense for us or a related service provider, you are responsible for the resulting liability and our reasonable losses. This section does not limit rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and guaranteed results. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or data.

Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the fees you actually paid for the affected Service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or CNY 500 (or its equivalent).

These limitations do not apply to personal injury caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or to liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.

11. Changes to the Terms and Service

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in features, pricing, security, law, or operations. We will provide notice of material changes through the Service, email, or another reasonable channel and obtain renewed confirmation where required by law. Updated Terms take effect on the stated date. Continued use is subject to the updated Terms except where applicable law requires otherwise.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features and plans. Material adverse changes during a paid period will be handled under the purchase terms, a reasonable substitute arrangement, or applicable law.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of mainland China, without excluding mandatory provisions of your jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be waived by contract.

The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through [email protected] or [email protected]. If no resolution is reached, either party may bring proceedings before a court with jurisdiction at the domicile of Shanghai Jihuxian Technology Co., Ltd., unless mandatory law requires another forum.

13. Miscellaneous and contact

If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a right immediately is not a waiver. We may transfer these Terms to a successor in connection with a merger, restructuring, financing, or transfer of the Service, subject to legally required notice.
